Sesame-Ginger Asparagus

Sesame-Ginger Glazed Asparagus

A quick and bright spring side dish!
Ingredients
  • 1 pound asparagus, trimmed
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon minced fresh garlic
  • 1 tablespoon lower-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon minced peeled fresh ginger
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds
Instructions
  1. Place ½ inch of water in a pot, bring to a boil. Add asparagus to steaming basket and place in the pot. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes over medium high heat. Test asparagus: it is ready when it is still bring green and a sharp knife can easily pass through it. If it is not cooked, cook for a few more minutes and test again.
  2. Microwave 1 tablespoon lower-sodium soy sauce, 1 teaspoon honey, 1 teaspoon lime juice, 1 teaspoon minced peeled fresh ginger, and garlic on HIGH for 1 to 1.5 minutes, until thicker. Drizzle over asparagus; sprinkle with 2 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds. Serve with lime wedges.
